The Russian Scientific Center “Applied Chemistry” as part of the state enterprise “Rostech” will design the permanent facility “PET and PBT Pellets Production Plant”. Under an agreement with Pskov company Titan-Polymer (part of GC Titan) the Center will prepare design documentation and carry out supervision during installation and construction.
The project to build a high-tech industrial complex at which PET and PBT pellets are produced is being implemented as part of the second stage of Titan’s investment project. The new plant, which will produce import substitution products, will be located in the Moglino SEZ in the Pskov region. The total production capacity of two lines will exceed 200 thousand tons/year, of which 140 thousand tons/year will be attributed to the production of PET pellets and 80 thousand tons/year will be attributed to the production of PBT pellets. The project implementation will be completed in 2026.
“The production of PET and PBT pellets will make it possible to cover demand for raw materials during BOPET film production. It will also provide an opportunity for other polymer producers to sell the pellets in the domestic market. We will be able to substitute a significant portion of imported raw materials with our own domestic products. According to our estimates, Titan-Polymer can become a key producer and supplier of bottle, film and textile PBT pellets, and PBT pellets on the territory of Russia and the CIS,” General Director of Titan-Polymer Kirill Neretin said.
“The new production facility for Titan-Polymer is being designed taking into account the compliance with up-to-date requirements of Russian and European regulations. This is a high-tech domestic production with the highest level of environmental protection. This production development strategy has already been implemented during the design of the first stage of the project for the production of BOPET films, and we continue to stick to it while designing all the nest stages,” Director of the Applied Chemistry Project Institute Dmitry Doctorov said.
