The Group of Companies «Titan» discussed role of business in research and educational centers with guest from Skolkovo

The Group of Companies «Titan» held meeting with participation of the company founder Mikhail Sutyaginsky with research instructor of Moscow School of Management «Skolkovo» Andreev Volchkov who arrived to Omsk region with working trip.

The management of the Group of Companies «Titan» presented the projects which currently need scientific support. Mikhail Sutyaginsky told that these projects could be executed jointly with scientific and educational organizations of the region under the umbrella of research and educational centers (REC). The possibility of creation of such center in Omsk region is being currently discussed.

«The world is heading for «green» chemistry, — Titan's top official shared his opinion about relevancy of REC. — Our task consists in creation of production facilities which will process renewable vegetable raw materials for manufacturing of products which have been traditionally made from hydrocarbons. These products are high-octane fuel additives, raw materials for production of epoxy plastics, components for production of resins». He noted that the company did some work in this field, yet additional world-class research activities have to be performed to improve it. REC should help the Group of Companies «Titan» to solve this problem. «Business generates major demand for technologies and project staffing, — noted Mikhail Sutyaginsky. — Just one plant of advanced refinery of grain and oil crops facilitates development of a total of 13 sectors of national economy».

Andrey Volkov confirmed that business and industrial partners will play key part in REC: «Ultimate goal of REC creation consists in increasing the share of advanced science and technology products from Russia in the domestic and global markets, for which the centers will provide research work, manufacturing technologies, staff training etc».

According to objectives of national project «Science», developed in accordance with Presidential Decree issued in May, at least 15 research and educational centers shall be created by 2024. The centers shall integrate all education levels, capabilities of scientific organizations and business, as was noted by Vladimir Putin in his Address to Federal Assembly.
