GC Titan and R.E.Alekseev Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University agreed on cooperation in the field of biotechnologies

A Strategic Partnership Agreement was concluded between R.E.Alekseev NSTU and GC Titan. A solemn ceremony was held in Nizhny Novgorod’s event pavilions. The document was signed by Head of Moscow separate division of GC Titan Aleksandr Orlov and Chancellor of the university Sergey Dmitriev.

The cooperation includes the organization of scientific work with the involvement of microfluidic technology and the formation of scientific and technological base for new high-tech industries of Russia’s economy. In addition, the parties will make it possible for students and teachers to participate in Titan’s R&D, and engineering activities. The parties will also organize mutual R&D work on the subjects of the enterprise. Microfluidic technologies include the making of compact devices that operate with micro-liter fluids using channels with dimensions of tens to hundreds of microns. This innovative technology makes it possible to take chemical synthesis and automation of processes in knowledge-intensive sectors of Russian industry to a whole new level.

“Application of microfluidic technologies results in the output of high-quality products with relatively low production costs. Due to these technologies we also increase safety, environmental friendliness and energy efficiency of the production process. Using microfluidic equipment GC Titan will be able to produce pharmaceutical substances, efficient substances for chemical plant protection agents, different chemicals including those for radio electronics. I am sure that our cooperation with R.E. Alekseev NSTU will benefit both parties, and the synergy of science and business will results in accelerating the market introduction of new promising technologies and high-tech products,” Head of Moscow separate division of GC Titan Aleksandr Orlov said.

NSTU is forming a scientific and technology base for new sectors of Russia’s economy. In this context such collaboration between scientists and industrialists will accelerate the development of promising technologies in the field of microfluidics, fresh petrochemical raw materials complex processing, low-tonnage chemicals, synthetic rubbers, and latexes. The signing of the agreement also coincides with the university's 125th anniversary.

“Our partnership is a new era of biotech developments. Every year NSTU expands its partner list to improve the efficiency of its work on Russia’s high-tech projects. Today, as part of the state program “Priority 2023”, we are implementing the strategic project “Green Economy: Technological Breakthrough and Eco-safety”. Our process engineers are developing new chemical technologies and functional materials within the framework of the project. The work is carried out in a tight bend “business-state-science”. It is the only way to achieve the high results that Russia is aimed at under modern conditions. New partners will help us strengthen and accelerate the development and implementation of new technologies,” Chancellor of the university Sergey Dmitriev said.

Leading scientists, young researches, graduate and undergraduate students of the university will take part in the implementation of mutual projects. The results of the works will be presented at international, Russia’s and industry symposiums and conferences.
