Denis Manturov visited “Pskovsky Zavod “Titan-Polymer” LLC as part of his work program in Pskov region

Denis Manturov, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation - Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, visited "Titan-Polymer", the plant for BOPET film production with an annual capacity of up to 72,000 tonnes.

Together with the Governor of Pskov Region Mikhail Vedernikov, he inspected the operating production line and laboratory of the plant, and also learned about promising investment projects of the Group of companies Titan.

BOPET films (biaxial oriented polyethylene terephthalate films) are used in food industry, medicine, electrical engineering, packaging, they are mechanically stable and low-temperature resistant. They are gas-tight, environmentally friendly, retain their properties at high humidity, and can be easily dyed. BOPET films can be applied in multilayered laminates as a top layer, for making premium packaging, production of labels, packaging of household chemicals, in the production of thermal insulation material. Thickness ranges from 8 to 125 microns.

The strategy of the Group of companies Titan provides for the establishment of its own engineering centres aimed at the development and application of modern materials and products on their basis into production, reducing dependence on imported raw materials for key branches of industry.

They will be engaged in the development and application of innovative chemical products into production, as well as the training of highly qualified personnel in close cooperation with the best universities of the country. One of such centres is planned to be established here, at the site of “Pskovsky Zavod “Titan-Polymer” LLC. In addition to obvious scientific benefits for the production process, the start-up of an engineering centre will have a multiplicative effect for inter-industry cooperation - it will attract companies engaged in processing raw materials at Moglino SEZ and will contribute to the formation of an inter-industry and inter-regional innovation cluster in Pskov region".

"Today we have effectively worked with industrial enterprises of Pskov region and considered in detail both already successfully implemented projects - Osko-Invest, Titan-Polymer - and a number of new ones, including the creation of production facilities for lithium-ion batteries. Therefore, our common task is to find a set of solutions to motivate investors to set up these production facilities and, as a result, to embrace new technologies. For our part, we will provide all-round support for such projects, which will be on a par with the existing mechanisms that regional companies actively use - I mean both Enterprise Development Fund, and R&D compensation and many others".

"Titan-Polymer" is our anchor resident, which is not only gradually ramping up production, but is also working, with the support of the Government of Pskov Region, to create a modern engineering centre. It will focus on the development and application of modern materials and products on their basis into production, on reducing dependence on imported raw materials for key branches of industry, as well as on training of highly qualified personnel. Together we will develop not only the polymer cluster in Pskov region, but also engage talented and promising young people in this sphere".
