AO GC Titan will construct the import-substituting production in Nizhny Novgorod region

Such Agreement was signed by the Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Gleb Nikitin and Chairman of the Board of Directors of AO GC Titan Mikhail Sutyaginsky at the SPIEF-2021.

On June 4 2021 the head of AO GC Titan Mikhail Sutyaginsky and the Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Gleb Nikitin signed an Cooperation Agreement to implement the invest project to construct the import-substituting production in Nizhny Novgorod region for the micronized silica gels and stable silica sols production at the Saints-Petersburg International Economic Forum.

The micronized silica gels use in chemical industry, paints and lacquers production, plastic and industrial rubber articles, as well as in the food production and other areas. The stable silica sols use in the oil refining, in the production of transformer steel for the production of anti-corrosion and non-stick coatings, adhesives, paper, emulsion paints, building materials.

“The new perspective industrial areas development is priority area for AO GC Titan, and one of them is the silica gels production,” Mikhail Sutyaginsky noted “We have the operating production site in Nizhny Novgorod region and we will be happy to strength our business cooperation with the region. The new plant construction project will be implemented by the AO GC Titan daughter enterprise – “RusSilica” Ltd. The planned invest volume the project is 5 billion rubbles.”

Approximately the production start is scheduled on the 2023-2024. The two production lines summary capacity is 6 000 tones of stable silica sols and 12 000 tones of micronized silica gels per year.

“The new import-substituting production complex construction in Nizhny Novgorod region is important step in the region's economy development. Within the project implementation 100 workplaces will be created. The invest project will provide additional tax payments to the all levels budgets”Gleb Nikitin said.

We should remember, that in December 2020 Mikhail Sutyaginsky and representatives of the Swiss company, which owned the technology, signed formation document to create “RusSilica” Ltd and produce the micronized silica gels and stable silica sols. The special economic zone “Kulibin” is regarded as a place to locate the production. It was created in Dzerzhinsk in 2020. At the moment the company “RusSilica” Ltd works to form an application for the project consideration at the SEZ “Kulibin” experts council, which will take place in the near future in 2021.
